IAU and WUA Launch Key Activities for UNESCO-Supported Internationalization Programme
The International Association of Universities (IAU) has officially launched the implementation phase of its UNESCO Participation Programme project, "Promoting Equitable and Inclusive Internationalization at Universities in Africa," in partnership with the Women’s University in Africa (WUA).

HEIAS Expert Site Visit to Toyo University
From June 30 to July 2, 2025, The IAU concluded a three-day HEIAS (Higher Education Internationalization Assessment Service) site visit at Toyo University in Japan. The visit focused on evaluating the university’s progress in achieving comprehensive internationalization and enhancing global engagement across the entire institution.

EAIE-IAU Internationalisation Leadership Dialogue

Empowering Youth as the Changemakers of Society
The 2025 Erasmus Generation Meeting (EGM) in Ancona was a moment of full-circle reflection and renewed commitment for the International Association of Universities (IAU). Representing the Association, Giorgio Marinoni, IAU Manager for Higher Education and Internationalization, addressed an audience of hundreds of young leaders at one of Erasmus Student Network’s (ESN) largest annual events.

HEIAS Grant Winner: University of Petra, Jordan
Each year the IAU reserves a budget to cover one of the HEIAS programmes for one IAU Member HEI. The HEIAS grant covers the full fee of the service; the institution will only have to cover the travel and subsistence costs (accommodation and meals) of the members of the expert panel.

HEIAS at Toyo University, Japan
Following the successful launch of the Higher Education Internationalization Advisory Services programme (HEIAS) at the IAU 2024 International Conference in Tokyo, Japan at Sophia University, the IAU is pleased to announce that Toyo University will be the first higher education institution to participate in the HEIAS programme.

Introducing the Latest IAU Programme: HEIAS
The International Association of Universities is pleased to launch its newest programme of work under the internationalization thematic priority area: HEIAS. This programme expands on the foundation laid by the original IAU ISAS and ISAS 2.0 programmes, which were created to support higher education institutions (HEIs) in developing, reviewing, and enhancing their internationalization strategies.

Launch Event: 6th IAU Global Survey on Internationalization
The IAU 6th Global Survey on the Internationalization of Higher Education received responses from 722 higher education institutions (HEIs) in 110 countries and territories. The resulting survey report analyses the findings in order to present both global and regional trends. Furthermore, the report compares current findings with data from the IAU’s previous Global Surveys on Internationalization in order to explore long-term changes occurring in the internationalization field.
