Leuphana University Lüneburg -Join the UNESCO Chair Lecture: "Assessment in ESD"

The UNESCO Chair in Higher Education for Sustainable Development at Leuphana University Lüneburg is inviting participants to the first conversation in their series "Assessment in ESD," organised under their UNESCO Chair Lecture Series.

Join them on June 1st, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 CEST for a talk with  Dr. Aaron Redman (Aalborg University, Denmark) and Dr. Caleb Mandikonza (University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa). This session will explore the shifting landscape of assessment in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Dr. Aaron Redman will trace the history of this field up into the present, including deeper insights into several projects he has been involved with in the past and currently with UNESCO's Transforming Futures and GreenEdTech at Aalborg University. Dr. Caleb Mandikonza will then introduce the "Assessment of Significant Learning" (ASL) as a robust framework for inclusive and transformative education. The session will conclude with a panel discussion on future directions for assessment in ESD.

The talk will be facilitated by  Harald Hantke, Junior Professor and Co-Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair in Higher Education for Sustainable Development, Leuphana University Lüneburg.
