Education International (EI), IAU, and Polytechnic University of Milan (POLIMI) jointly organized this seminar to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the work and study conditions of university staff and students during the pandemic and how this has affected their health and well-being.
The sudden shift to remote teaching and learning, research, and administration has transformed the way in which staff and students work. For some, it resulted in an increased workload, disorientation and social isolation leading to stress and anxiety; for others it has paved the way to new working modalities and opportunities.
This seminar brought together university leaders, staff, students, and experts to discuss how well-being in the higher education sector globally has been affected by the pandemic, what steps are being taken to accompany the shift in working conditions, and what can be done at universities to promote healthier work and learning environments.
Speakers:
David Robinson, Executive Director, Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), Canada.
