IAU organised a session on "Higher Education and Research – How universities around the world engage with Sustainability and build partnerships for the SDGs" as part of the 9th World Sustainability Forum (WSF), which took place virtually from 13-15 September (https://wsf-9.sciforum.net/). Experts from the IAU network made a strong case for higher education’s role in sustainable development, and also linked it with IAU's work on its strategic priority of Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development (HESD). Strategies for increased collaboration between universities and other higher education institutions around the world were outlined, supported by presentations from representatives from the IAU Global HESD Cluster. The session focused specifically on SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing; SDG 4: Quality Education; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
