United Nations Academic Impact appoints the University of Gothenburg as the new vice-chair for research for SDG 8

The University of Gothenburg has been appointed by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) as the new Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 Hub Vice-Chair for Research.

Through its vision, “A University for the World,” the University of Gothenburg strives to be an international university that takes responsibility for societal development and contributes to a sustainable future.

Since 2018, the university has led the SDG 8 initiative within the International Association of Universities (IAU). This work has resulted in a series of international conferences and the publication of the book Achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8: Economic Growth and Decent Work for All.

By coordinating the efforts and networks of both the International Association of Universities and UNAI, the University of Gothenburg aims to strengthen the global contribution of higher education institutions toward achieving SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
