Activities and Financial Report 2013-2016
This report is necessarily brief, providing a synoptic view of the multitude of actions and initiatives undertaken by the Secretariat, under the direction and with support and collaboration of the President, the Executive Committee, the Administrative Board members and various more ad hoc expert groups and task forces. This report complements the IAU regular updates through various communication channels including the Annual Reports and the oral report to be presented by the Secretary General during the Business Session I of the General Conference.
Annual Report 2016
The 2016 Annual Report of the International Association of Universities (IAU) provides a comprehensive overview of their activities during the period from October 2015 to September 2016. The report highlights various initiatives and accomplishments. Notably, the 2016-2020 Strategic Plan was set at the 15th General Confernece in Bangkok, Thailand, and the IAU Adminsitrative Board and President were elected. Additionally, the IAU convened it’s Membership to discuss Internationalization of Higher Education: Moving beyond Mobility at the IAU 2015 International Conference hosted by the University of Siena in Italy in October 2015. Regular work at the IAU Secretariat in Paris, including publications, database management, and coordination of global programs, continues to serve the higher education community worldwide.
Higher Education in ASEAN
On the occasion of the IAU 15th General Conference (Bangkok, November 2016), a booklet entitled Higher Education in ASEAN was published. It showcases the higher education systems and institutions in the 10 ASEAN countries and provides a quick and comparable overview of the Higher Education landscape in the region.
IAU Horizons: Leadership for a Changing Public Private Higher Education Funding Landscape
This issue, devoted to the presentation of IAU projects and initiatives, focuses on the preparations for the IAU 15th General Conference; details results and opportunities linked to the IAU key thematic priorities of work; presents the new Members and the various projects IAU is involved in. IAU Horizons: The Blurring Divide Between Public and Private Higher Education
This issue is fully devoted to the presentation of IAU projects and initiatives. It focuses specifically on the preparations for the IAU 15th General Conference; provides a full report of the outcomes of the IAU 2015 International Conference and details results and opportunities linked to the IAU key thematic priorities of work. Annual Report 2015

Open Letter to COP21 Ministers and Governments (2015)
On 1 December 2015, a global alliance of higher education sustainability networks, including the IAU, representing more than 3,000 universities and colleges worldwide, jointly issued an Open Letter urging Ministers and Governments to acknowledge and strengthen the research and education role that universities and colleges play in addressing climate change.

Iquitos Statement on Higher Education for Sustainable Development
Following the IAU 2014 International Conference on Blending Higher Education and Traditional Knowledge for Sustainable Development, held in Iquitos, Peru, this statement reaffirms the commitment of IAU and the higher education community at large to pursuing sustainable development within and through their respective institutions, and to reassessing higher education and its role in the transition to more sustainable societies in the context of the UN Agenda 2030. It fueled debate at the UNESCO 2014 World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (Aïchi Nagoya, Japan) and was adopted officially at the IAU 15th General Conference in Thailand, in 2016.

Internationalization of Higher Education: Growing Expectations, Fundamental Values
The purpose of the IAU Global Surveys is to provide data and analysis of developments in internationalization of higher education. Alongside its data collection on the importance, the activities and priorities of this process, this 4th edition of the IAU Global Survey adds an important focus on values and principles, as well as the potential benefits and risks of current trends in internationalization of higher education for both institutions and society.

Activities and Financial Report 2008-2012
The following report is organized around the major functions of the Association and the priority areas that were adopted in 2008, by the General Conference and subsequently refined during successive Administrative Board meetings. The work described has been accomplished with support of the IAU President and Administrative Board members, various Committees, Working Groups and experts as well as by a dedicated and committed staff at the IAU Secretariat in Paris.
