Professor Pattarachai Kiratisin received an M.D. degree from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Rochester (New York, USA). This was followed by Postdoctoral Fellowships in Molecular Genetics from Stanford University (California, USA) and in Clinical Microbiology from the National Institutes of Health (Maryland, USA), and a Diploma of Clinical Pathology from the Thai Medical Council. He was a recipient of the Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Young Investigator Award from the American Society for Microbiology and American Academy of Microbiology. Currently, Prof. Kiratisin is appointed as Vice President for Research at Mahidol University.
