The University of Salvador celebrates it’s 70th anniversary

IAU is pleased to congratulate the University of Salvador, an IAU Member, under the distinguished leadership of its Rector, Carlos Ignacio Salvadores de Arzuaga, on the occasion of the University’s 70th anniversary, which will take place during the week of May 5, 2026, in Buenos Aires.

Founded in 1956, the University of Salvador is one of Argentina’s leading private universities and the oldest Jesuit university in the country. Rooted in the Jesuit educational tradition, it has distinguished itself through its commitment to academic excellence, ethical formation, and service to society. Over the past seven decades, the University has expanded its academic offerings across a wide range of disciplines and has strengthened its national and international partnerships, contributing significantly to higher education in Argentina and beyond.

The anniversary programme will include:

  • Tuesday, May 5: Opening Ceremony

  • Wednesday, May 6: Conference Series

  • Thursday, May 7: Gathering at the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Campus
