Opportunity for Students: Global Competition on Design for Futures (GCD4F) 2026

Students interested in artificial intelligence, innovation, and future-focused solutions are invited to participate in the Global Competition on Design for Futures (GCD4F) 2026.

Originally launched in 2018 as the Global Competition on Design for Future Education (GCD4FE), the initiative is co-organized by Beijing Normal University (BNU) and the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) and is recognized as one of the key annual events of the World Digital Education Alliance (WDEA).

Over the years, the competition has engaged 25,000+ participants from more than 40 countries, generating 3,000+ innovative proposals exploring future-oriented solutions for education.

2026 Competition Themes
• AI for Science
• AI for Education
• AI for Society

Students are encouraged to form teams and design innovative AI-driven solutions addressing global challenges and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key Dates
Team Registration Deadline: 30 April 2026
Project Submission Deadline: 31 May 2026

Outstanding teams will advance to Regional Finals, with selected finalists invited to the Global Finals in Beijing or Paris in October 2026.
