IAU Vice President Participates in UNESCO Chairs Meeting in Tunis

IAU Vice President and Board Member Professor Jouhaina Gherib recently took part in a regional meeting of UNESCO Chairs in Africa, held in Tunis and organized by UNESCO Higher Education and its regional offices.

The meeting served as a platform to reflect on progress made within the UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme, explore new opportunities for capacity building and research collaboration, and shape a forward-looking action plan to strengthen the network. Particular attention was given to how UNESCO Chairs can support the implementation of Campus Africa, a growing initiative focused on higher education and sustainable development across the continent.

As a representative of the International Association of Universities (IAU), Prof. Gherib reaffirmed IAU’s commitment to advancing international cooperation and promoting Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development (HESD).
