HBMSU -The Next Benchmarking Cycle Launches in October 2025
The next implementation cycle of the international Consortium for Benchmarking Framework for Online, Open, Smart and Technology-enhanced Higher Education will launch in October 2025.
Participating universities will engage in a quality assessment of their online education practices. This will enable both first-time and returning members to evaluate their achievements, identify areas for development, and benchmark their performance against other leading online and open universities worldwide. Participation will facilitate collaborative work on strategies for institutional performance improvement and knowledge-sharing activities with quality assurance experts and stakeholders.
The Consortium, initiated by Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) with international partners, promotes a shared understanding of quality in online higher education and provides a robust benchmarking framework built on six dimensions and 38 indicators. Participation is free of charge and open to all institutions committed to improving the quality of open, distance and online education. It currently unites 30 higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies from six continents, with the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) as a strategic partner.
We invite universities and higher education institutions from all regions to join the Consortium and take part in the upcoming cycle. For more details, please visit: https://benchmarking.hbmsu.ac.ae
