Botswana to host next RUFORUM Annual General Meeting
From 1–5 December 2025, the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) (housed at Makerere University), will hold its 21st Annual General Meeting in Gaborone, Botswana, hosted in collaboration with the Government of Botswana and leading universities, University of Botswana (UB), Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) and Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST).
Under the theme “Positioning Africa’s Universities and the Higher Education Sector to Effectively Impact Development Processes on the Continent”, the AGM will gather over 600 participants - including university leaders, policymakers, industry, and young innovators—for strategic dialogue, scientific exchange, and collective action. The event will spotlight partnerships, science for development, entrepreneurship, and capacity building to strengthen the transformative role of African universities in delivering sustainable development.
