35th AULP Meeting – 2026 | Macau | 15–17 June 2026

The 35th Meeting of the Association of Portuguese Language Universities (AULP) will take place in Macau from 15 to 17 June 2026.

Hosted by the University of Macau (UM), the Macau Polytechnic University (UPM) and the Macau University of Tourism (UTM), the meeting will be held partly in parallel with the 4th Forum of Rectors of China, Macau and the Portuguese-Speaking Countries (PLPs).

The 2026 edition will focus on the theme:

International University Collaboration: Strengthening Academic and Cultural Ties between the Greater Bay Area (China), Macau-Hengqin and the Portuguese-Speaking Countries.

The programme will address two subthemes:

  • Interuniversity Relations

  • The Portuguese Language as a Cultural Bridge

The event will also include roundtable discussions and publication launches. The meeting coincides with the 45th anniversary of the University of Macau and the 40th anniversary of AULP, marking a commemorative edition.

In related news, the 2025 Fernão Mendes Pinto Prize was awarded to Lu Chunhui for the doctoral thesis “The Translator as Mediator: Sino-Portuguese Interactions in Macau (1749–1846).”
