Mathieu is currently Senior Director, and Head of the new ISC Centre for Science Futures – an ISC think tank that is expected to provide thought leadership in discussions of policy for science, and to provide the evidence and intellectual resources that can help transform science and research systems, at the global and regional levels. Before heading the Centre, Mathieu was the Science Director at the creation of the Council in 2018. Mathieu holds a PhD from the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. He has previously taught history, political theory, and industrial relations at Université de Montréal. He also worked as researcher at the Berlin Social Science Centre.
