Will Universities Need a New Business Model for the Future?

The pandemic has accelerated and prompted new questions on universities’ place in society. This session kicks off IAU’s Webinar Series on The Future of Higher Education for 2021, with a discussion on actions university leaders must take to address the institutional and societal needs of the future.

At the institutional level, university leaders are asked to do more with less. At the systems level, university leaders are asked to create synergies and share resources, as well as convincingly demonstrate how their institutions will actively contribute to shaping a post pandemic recovery and development processes.

What can leadership do to reaffirm the role of universities as crucial places of knowledge and solutions to global problems? In what ways will system-wide leadership across the higher education sector emerge, organise, and help spin the good across society? What are the challenges and opportunities for higher education institutions globally in the context of massive economic disruption, digitised education, and trust deficits? In short, how do university leaders re-imagine the university and its business model in these transformational times? Join the session to find out.
