Advancing Internationalization Together: IAU Online Meetings


Join the International Association of Universities (IAU) online for an introduction to the Association’s global work on internationalization, led by Giorgio Marinoni, IAU Manager for Higher Education Internationalization.

We are pleased to organise two meetings on this topic: one for prospective Members on Monday 8 June 2026 and one for current IAU Members looking to engage more with the Association on Wednesday 10 June 2026. Find more information below:

Online Meeting for Prospective Members

Monday 8 June 2026 | 11:00 - 12:00 CEST

Are you a university leader interested in internationalization and global engagement? Join the International Association of Universities (IAU) online meeting on “Advancing Internationalization Together” to learn more about the IAU’s recent work and initiatives in this strategic priority area. The session will also provide an opportunity to connect with the IAU’s global network and explore ways to engage in its activities and collaborations. 

The session will be led by Giorgio Marinoni, Manager for Higher Education and Internationalization at the IAU, and supported by Cesar Wazen, Director of International Affairs at Qatar University, and Sunungurai Dominica Chingarande, Vice Chancellor of Women's University in Africa. 

Please note that participation in this meeting is reserved for university heads and heads of internationalization departments or offices. 

Online Meeting for Current IAU Members

Wednesday 10 June 2026 | 15:00 - 16:00 CEST

Join the International Association of Universities (IAU) for an online meeting focused on advancing internationalization in higher education. This session will provide an overview of the IAU’s latest work under its strategic priority on internationalization, including recent initiatives, emerging areas of focus, and opportunities for Members to engage and contribute.

The meeting will also highlight ways IAU Members can use IAU tools such as the Global Survey reports to advance internationalization in practice, participate in upcoming activities and global discussions about the future of internationalization across diverse institutional contexts.

The session will be led by Giorgio Marinoni, Manager for Higher Education and Internationalization at the IAU, and supported by Sandra Bibiana Guarin Tarquino, Vice-President for International Affairs at University of Rosario, Colombia and Sandra den Otter, former Vice Provost, Global Engagement, Queen’s University, Canada.
